Delete your Basalt account
Deleting your Basalt account removes everything: every food entry, workout, walk and route, sleep record, weight entry, recipe, plan, grocery item, your profile and targets, and finally the sign-in record itself. The deletion runs server-side as one cascade. It is not a soft-delete and there is no retention window — when it finishes, the rows are gone.
In the app (immediate)
- Open Settings (the gear, top right).
- Scroll to Account → Delete account & all data.
- Type DELETE to confirm — the screen states exactly what will be removed.
- Deletion runs immediately. You are signed out; the account no longer exists.
Without the app (contact path)
If you no longer have the app installed or can't sign in, email [contact email — to be confirmed before publication] from the address your account is registered under, with the subject "Delete my Basalt account". Your identity is verified by a reply-confirmation to that same address (so nobody else can delete your account), and the deletion is then run within 7 days, with a confirmation reply when it is done.
What is deleted, exactly
- All rows in every Basalt table belonging to your account — food, training, walks (including GPS routes), sleep and stages, steps, weight, water, mindfulness, recipes, ingredients and steps, meal plans, grocery items, favorites, targets, and your profile.
- Your authentication record (email + password hash).
Nothing is retained for "analytics" — Basalt has no analytics. Data you exported yourself before deleting is, naturally, yours and outside our reach.
Partial deletion
You don't need to delete the account to remove individual data: any entry can be deleted in-app, and Settings → Your data exports everything first if you want a copy.
